Pitch Perfect!

The latest news on the Manor Farm Multi-Use Games Area is that contractors are well on schedule to complete the state of the art sports surface in time for the busy season ahead.

Groundworks have been completed with secure, 3 metre high rebound fencing, high quality floodlighting and even a viewing area complete with picnic tables.

Work has now begun on the beautiful 'baize green carpet' that is looking 'pitch perfect' for Wembley or Wimbledon!

We got to speak to the specialist who has masterminded the Manor Farm MUGA and interestingly, is also currently working with Premiership new boys Bournemouth FC to make sure they get a good start to the coming football season.

Tom Bradley of 'Surfacing Systems Ltd' said, 'We are laying the very best ‘Tiger Turf’ synthetic grass surface with shock pad foundation which is sports body approved for Football, Tennis, Netball & Hockey.  It really will be a fantastic facility for clubs, sports teams or anyone in Walsall who wants play team games and get fit regardless of the weather or the time of day.  These facilities and floodlights will ensure you can play well into the dark winter nights!'

We know our sports users demand high standards and Chief Executive Gary Bird was determined they should get the very best facility that money could buy. He said, ‘We really did our homework on selecting a surfacing company that could provide a bespoke service. We need to cater for a range of sports and make sure the MUGA is available when people want to play – that means evenings and weekends. We think this new facility with ‘Tiger Turf’ will do just that.’

And the homework really was intensive with sites viewed across the country and testimonials sought from those at the top of their game, such as AFA Bournemouth. James Lathwell, Head Groundsman said, ‘After a lot of heavy use, our 3G training courts were in need of professional maintenance. Having been introduced to Tom Bradley and his team in the summer, and being impressed with his professionalism and knowledge, I had no hesitation in calling on Bradleys Surfacing Systems to carry out the works. The work they have done for us is first class, and I would have no hesitation in recommending Bradleys in having work done to their artificial surface as well.’

Well, pre-season has gone well for AFC Bournemouth and Manor Farm CA so make sure YOU are fit and ready to play as we will soon announce the official opening of the new MUGA in King George Crescent in Rushall near Walsall, which has already seen an unprecedented demand for bookings.

Watch the local press for further details and make every effort to be there from day one as it promises to be a truly prestigious event, officially opened by a surprise Midlands sports celebrity!

Anyone interested in a regular or casual booking is invited to contact the Manor Farm CA Sports Reception on 01922 614316 for further details
