We Need You!

Following support from the Big Lottery Reaching Communities Fund our Silver Scheme is now better than ever with a wide range of support services for local people over 55 years of age!

We are thrilled with the support and Charity Manager Sue Evans said, 'This will enable us to reach older people in most need or who are in danger of being isolated in the community.  We can now promote our service and ensure we meet demand for befriending, lunch clubs, gardening, home maintenance, domestic cleaning and, our ever popular transport for essential journeys such as medical appointments.

The staff here at Manor Farm are excited at the prospect of helping our old friends and those we have yet to meet.  To do that successfully we need ... YOU!

We became an accredited centre for volunteers back in 2013 by achieving the standard, 'Investing in Volunteers.'  We recognise the high value of local people helping others in the community and want YOU to consider being a volunteer with us.

Manor Farm has opportunities for you to be a 1-to-1 befriender meeting with older, sometimes lonely people in their own homes.  Just sharing a cup of tea and some memories can really brighten the day for someone who rarely enjoys regular company.  Could you spare an hour each week to make someone happy this way?

We also need some active, vibrant personalities to help out at our lunch clubs and afternoon coffee and cake session each Thursday.  Spending time on reception, helping with social activities, arts and crafts or calling bingo numbers can all contribute to a great 'day out' for those usually stuck at home.

Qualified drivers are always needed as are gardeners, good D.I.Y'ers and anyone who enjoys preparing, making and serving good, wholesome food!

So ... Can you help out?

Volunteering is so rewarding and we can guarantee you will be well supported with training, good, friendly work colleagues and opportunities to enhance your own personal development.  Why not try volunteering?  You'll be made very welcome!
