Funding Boost for Manor Farm Community Association

Time for a change!

Manor Farm Community Association is today celebrating the news that it has received a £20,000.00 funding boost from SITA Trust for the Manor Farm External Changing Rooms.

Funding will allow the refurbishment of old, dilapidated changing rooms that have been out of use for over 10 years into 'state of the art' facilities fit for the 21st Century! The project will see the refurbished to create a safe, hygienic and welcoming facility for users of the outdoor sports facilities at the Community Centre where football, netball and tennis can take place.  Separate facilities will be provided for men and women, including showers, toilets and changing cubicles.

Importantly, The Manor Farm Community Association offers their facilities on a 'pay and play' basis, which enables access without commitment.  Affordable community facilities like this one are desperately needed to enable the wider population to participate in sport and healthy living. 

Gary Bird of Manor Farm Community Association said, ‘‘This is very exciting news for our community association and we are so grateful to the SITA Trust.  It represents a major step forward and will provide a whole range of sporting opportunities for local people through improved facilities which will inspire them to take up sport, keep fit and stay healthy whilst having fun!’’

Marianne Ivin of SITA Trust added “We are delighted to have been able to support this project through the Landfill Communities Fund and are looking forward to seeing the improvements help more people into sport. This is a great way for our funds to be utilised.”

Work on the changing rooms will soon begin and hopefully complement further improvements to sports facilities planned for Summer 2015 at the forward thinking centre in Rushall near Walsall town centre.

SITA Trust provides grants through the Landfill Communities Fund. This important source of funding has been available since 1997 and has provided such worthy projects with more than £1.3 billion.
