Cooking Craze a Tasty Success!

Family, food and fun took off in style as children and adults got together to show off their culinary skills in the kitchen.  As part of the Family Learning programme at Manor Farm, families were invited from the Radleys School to work together to create a stunning series of meals in the 'state of the art' kitchens at Elmwood School.

On the menu were dishes such as Asian chicken biryani, chocolate pear torte, home-made Italian-style pizza, Swedish meatballs with real tomato sauce, healthy chicken nuggets, apple crumble and nutritious flapjacks to 'die for!'

Local mum Sarah Worrall said, 'The three week course was absolutely brilliant!  We can't thank Manor Farm, Elmwood and Radleys School enough.  My son really enjoyed the experience of preparing and cooking meals as we both learned new skills together.'

The 'cooking for fun' sessions are part of an exciting family learning programme and were provided completely free of charge.

Organiser Sue Evans said, 'We are always keen to provide what our community wants and try to deliver activities at affordable prices.  On this occasion we were able to provide the cooking classes without charge and are absolutely thrilled at the positive response from those who took part.'

And it wasn't just the adults who had nice things to say.  Budding young chefs Maisie, Joe and Josh all agreed with their mums, 'Thank you to Carol Hall our fabulous food tech teacher for teaching us and showing us how healthy food should be!'

Looks like families, food and fun will feature high on future Manor Farm family learning programmes as the children finished with a famous line from the hit musical 'Oliver' -

'Please, Miss, We Want Some More!'
