Bowled Over!

Our Silver Scheme Co-ordinator organised two fabulous lunchtime ventures down the pub this week - all in the name of keeping fit and healthy!

The excuse was to play skittles and have a hearty lunch - washed down with the tipple of their choice.

Our Silver Scheme folk enjoyed scampi and chips and other traditional pub grub and had a good laugh as each managed to rack up a great score knocking down the nine pins.  One or two had a nice pint of ale whilst the rest of us drank something a little softer - honest!

The Boathouse in Park Road, Rushall is just one of two lovely pubs within walking distance of the Manor Farm Centre, the other being the famous Manor Arms.  Both are well renowned for their hospitality and staff at the Boat did us proud and made sure our every need was catered for as our party dined in the hull of a narrowboat set in the comfortable surroundings of the pub itself.  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and are already looking forward to our next day out in Walsall.

This was just one of the many excursions older people can take part in by registering with the BIG Lottery funded Silver Scheme.
