New Manager at First Friends!

First Friends Day Nursery warmly welcomes their new Nursery Manager Jane Arblaster this month into a role where she is assured of overwhelming support from staff and parents alike.  She is relishing her new role after being in the Childcare industry for over 22 years and is now ready to take First Friends to even greater heights.

‘Seeing the children grow and develop’ is something that still excites our new Manager and she says, ‘No two days are ever the same. It is never boring here at First Friends and the smiles on the faces of our children make every moment worthwhile.’

Jane has taken up the sought-after post of Nursery Manager and brings a wealth of experience.  She knows just what it takes to meet the needs of every child. She went on to say, ‘I am so fortunate to have a wonderful team of staff who want to see the children progress every bit as much as I do.’

First Friends nursery has just undergone extensive refurbishment and was also recently awarded a ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted, with parents agreeing that: ‘Children are challenged, make good progress in their learning and gain the necessary skills in readiness for school.’

Ofsted also said ...

Staff are well motivated and work as a strong team to monitor and evaluate the provision very effectively. There are good links with other professionals and early years providers. Staff share ideas and good practice and work together to support all children. Staff maintain continuous professional development and continually work to improve children's learning experiences.

Plans are also underway to ensure that the nursery staff raise their standards even higher with each one keen to develop a specialist area such as personal, social and emotional development, mathematics or speech and language.  Friend and colleague April Perry said she was overjoyed at the appointment, adding, ‘Jane has our overwhelming support and we are behind her every step of the way as together we create child care that every family wants for their little ones.’

I am so grateful to my wonderful team for the reception they have given me and would especially like to thank all the parents, carers and children for their best wishes and on-going support.
